Jacqueline Clary - Participant

Jacqueline Clary is Senior Counsel and Assistant Policy Director at the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council (MMTC).  MMTC is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting diversity and preserving equal opportunity and civil rights in the mass media, telecommunications and broadband industries, and closing the digital divide.  In her role, Ms. Clary specializes in communications law with a sensibility to how civil rights impact the communications industries.  She leads the development of substantive legal and policy pleadings in major Federal Communications Commission rulemaking proceedings and provides answers to Congressional inquiries and debate.  Ms. Clary has served as a Rapporteur for the Media Issues Subcommittee, the Barriers to Entry Subcommittee, and the WiFi Task Force of the FCC’s Advisory Committee on Diversity.  In this role, she has helped research, analyze and report on the implications of spectrum policy for consumers, communities of color, and other vulnerable populations.  She also staffs MMTC's New Telecom and Internet Policy Task Force, co-chaired by former Congressmen Ed Towns and Cliff Stearns, with a focus on updating the 1934 Communications Act.

Ms. Clary is also the founder of Whimsidot Communications, LLC, a consulting company that facilitates business development through content creation and strategic communications for clients in the technology and leisure industries.  

Ms. Clary earned her B.A. from John Carroll University in communications, where she served as Chapter President of Chi Omega Fraternity and was a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the communications honor society, and Phi Beta Delta, the international honor society.  Clary earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and is a member of the New York State Bar.  She is a former John W. Jones Fellow at MMTC, an honor established to recognize and advance entrepreneurs in media and telecom.
