Shazna Nessa - Participant

Shazna Nessa was a 2014 JSK Journalism Fellow at Stanford University, where her work focused on visual literacy and data visualization. Prior to that Nessa was a deputy managing editor at the Associated Press in New York, where she spent five years establishing AP’s interactive, social media, mobile and data journalism presence. She created and led an award-winning global department that produced interactive news content, including the development of two data journalism tools funded by the Knight Foundation’s news innovation grants. She also devised and taught the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism’s first ever design course.
