Diane Lai - Participant

Diane Lai has worked in Palo Alto City Library in the past six years, leading the library’s effort on digital initiatives and innovative technology applications. Her work with a team of library staff has resulted in the Library’s ability to offer various technology oriented programs popular with adults, teens and children in Palo Alto communities. The Library has also transformed its website in the last two years. Moving away from simply offering information and allowing searching online catalog on its website, Palo Alto Library has partnered with a vendor to build a digital platform that facilitates community engagement via social media features besides providing enhanced access to information. One of the latest projects Diane and her team have been working on is how to effectively build digital collections on the Distributed Web and share their gains with the public library community.
