Bonnie Svrcek - Member

Bonnie Svrcek is the Deputy City Manager for the City of Lynchburg, Virginia since 1999. Prior to joining the City of Lynchburg Bonnie served as the Assistant Town Manager in Blacksburg, Virginia for nine years.  Prior local government service includes working for Fairfax County, Virginia and the City of Los Angeles’ Washington, D.C. office.

She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Housing and Applied Design, received her Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California’s Washington Public Affairs Center, attended the Senior Executive Institute in Charlottesville, VA and completed the State and Local Government Excellence Executive Education Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2011. 

Bonnie is a member of the Board of Directors of the James River Council for the Arts and Humanities and the All Points Employee Assistance Program.  She also serves on an Advisory Board for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Virginia.  She just completed her year as Immediate Past President of ICMA during the Association’s 100th Anniversary Celebration in Charlotte, North Carolina in September.
