8:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.             Session I. Rising Tensions: Values of Individualism and Collectivism
In today’s highly-networked and customized world, tensions between the values of the individual and the collective seem to be at odds. How does this impact interpersonal relationships, community-level efforts and larger societal issues?

10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.           Session II. Challenges & Opportunities for Autonomy in the Era of AI
AI technologies are widespread and affect many facets of our daily lives from autopilot to Facebook feed algorithms to automated customer representatives. What are the benefits and challenges of the growing dependency on automated decision-making systems for both the individual and society? Is there a need to reimagine human agency? Are the mechanisms of transparency and accountability appropriate and sufficient?
